Not with us! Legal claim against BE Conflict Management: The truth is based on facts!

18. November 2024

An attack on investigative reporting

The investigative platform BE Conflict Management is once again facing legal action: as the website operator informed us, four letters of formal notice from a Vienna law firm were sent on behalf of SKAI2Pay Ltd., Mona99 GmbH, Sharif Omar and Karlheinz Dobnigg. The accusation: allegedly defamatory and untrue statements. However, BE Conflict Management is reacting calmly – and is determined to continue bringing the truth to light.

According to BE Conflict Management, all published reports are based on thorough research and confirmation by independent sources. Written statements, including from Mastercard and Paynetics, support the content. Nevertheless, the current demands seem to be aimed at silencing the platform and suppressing critical revelations. This is an approach that is not unknown in the world of investigative journalism.

‘We will not be intimidated,’ emphasises the editorial team. ‘Our goal remains to expose injustices and create transparency.’

Unclear licences and dubious practices

In particular, the focus of the criticism is on allegations regarding the business practices of SKAI2Pay and Mona99. According to BE Conflict Management, both companies lack the necessary licences for international payment transactions and Mastercard services.

The facts paint a different picture:

  • Mastercard confirmed in writing that no card programme is registered in connection with SKAI2Pay or Mona99. (Editor’s note: email is available.)
  • Paynetics AD, a well-known European payment service provider, also stated that neither of the two companies ever had the required licences. The CEO of Paynetics, Valeri Valtchev, announced that measures have already been taken against the unauthorised use of their services.

On her former website, Mona99 also gave the impression of having a partnership with Paynetics – an accusation that the company strongly rejects.

Links to myWorld and Hubert Freidl

Possible links to Hubert Freidl, founder of the controversial myWorld network, also raise questions. While the accused parties deny any connection to myWorld, publicly available documents suggest the opposite:

  • Sharif Omar, former CEO of myWorld International, played a central role within the myWorld structures.
  • SKAI2Pay is controlled through Holonox Holding and Holonox UK Ltd., where Omar has been registered as a ‘person with significant control’ since 2023. Through these structures, Omar apparently founded SKAI2 and took over Mona99.

This close interconnection seems to be aimed at presenting SKAI2Pay as an independent provider. In calls with Lyconet marketers, the programme is actively promoted, while the connections to myWorld and Freidl remain in the background.

A clear attack on freedom of the press

The legal action against BE Conflict Management is being seen by observers as a targeted attack on the freedom of the press. However, the platform remains steadfast: ‘Our work is based solely on facts. We will not be intimidated or deterred from exposing wrongdoing.’

SKAI2Pay Ltd., Mona99 GmbH, Sharif Omar and Karlheinz Dobnigg are free to take legal action. This would in turn provide BE Conflict Management Ltd. with an ideal opportunity to disclose all relevant information, name witnesses and demand relevant documents from the plaintiffs.

BE Conflict Management’s mission remains clear: education, transparency and strengthening the rights of victims of non-transparent networks. The threat of legal action does not change the fact that the truth continues to come first.

Conclusion

The demands on BE Conflict Management Ltd. are more than just legal threats – they are an attempt to stifle critical journalism. But the fight for transparency and justice continues. The investigative platform will not be silenced and shows how important independent reporting remains in an era of increasing lack of transparency.

And as always, those affected are welcome to comment on this, or if someone has more or different information, they are welcome to share it with us. We are not interested in making false claims and our primary goal remains the provision of complete documentation.
